Overview
Kitaguchi Hongū Fuji Sengen Shrine (北口本宮冨士浅間神社) is a revered Shinto sanctuary located at the northern foothills of Mount Fuji in Fujiyoshida. Dating back around 1,900 years, it was founded to honor the kami of Fuji—and is traditionally believed to have been established by the legendary Prince Yamato Takeru around 100 CE, later expanded in 788 to placate volcanic activity.
