Arakurayama Sengen Park
Tokyo To Tokyo
Overview
Arakurayama Sengen Park is a beautifully landscaped hillside park in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, established in 1959. Nestled on Mount Arakura, it spans around 4.3 hectares and is famed for the iconic five-story Chureito Pagoda, built in 1962 as a peace memorial.
Visitors ascend approximately 398 stone steps—known as the Sakuya‑hime Stairway—to reach an observation deck offering a breathtaking trifecta view: the red pagoda, cherry blossoms, and majestic Mount Fuji standing in the background travelingjapan.net+7gltjp.com+7gltjp.com+7. The park is home to around 650 Yoshino cherry trees, which bloom brilliantly in early to mid-April, and it glows with autumn foliage in November.
